Policies & Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do not wear lotions on the day of your pole class and leave your jewelry at home. Lotions make you and the pole slippery and dangerous.

When participating in pole fitness, you are only expected to do what you are comfortable with. Our instructors will guide and provide the necessary instructions in order for you to safely perform and improve your fitness at each designated level of activity - these should be followed carefully. If you enroll in a level that is not suitable for your level of fitness, you will be directed to move into a level where you can participate safely and have an enjoyable experience.

It is common for you to get some bruises (aka 'pole kisses') early on in pole fitness due to the nature of the moves however, your body eventually adjusts.

  • For the safety of our community, we lock the front door 10 minutes after the scheduled class time has begun. 10 minutes is the cut-off time to join a class as warm-up is required for your safety: late arrivals = no entry. The front door will be open with 15 minutes of class time remaining to welcome the following class. Please note these changes and time your arrival to and from the studio accordingly.

Please arrive ready to participate, with minimal personal belongings other than a water bottle and your own yoga mat (not required/provided). Feel free to bring your own towel if you use the yoga mats provided & note the yoga mat cleaning spray provided for proper wipe down after use.

  • Please remember to take off your jewelry before class as the hard metal will scratch the pole and could damage your jewelry. We are not liable if you lose your belongings while in the studio.

Do not wear any lotions on the day of your pole class and leave your jewelry at home. Lotions make you and the pole slippery and dangerous.

For Series 1-2: Please wear clothing that you are most comfortable in, i.e. yoga pants, shorts, tights, tank tops or any fitness top. Kneepads are useful for floor work.

For Series 3-10: Shorts/tights and fitness tops/sports bras are highly recommended. Upper series classes involve more advanced moves to be performed and therefore require you to stick to the pole and to have the proper amount of skin exposure. In order for skin to grip the pole, pole dancers should have their legs, arms and stomach exposed. Like any sport, advancement in skill level requires proper attire in order to perform a move safely.

We at PFK expect and enforce a level or professionalism and respect when it comes to behaviour and attire choice. We will not allow a move to be performed if the clothing exposes one to risk, or will we tolerate clothing that does not cover appropriate body parts, i.e. no bikinis, string tops, etc.

  • Due to class capacity and pole availability, it is recommended that you register in advance in order to secure your spot/pole in the class. Further, this will help us know if we have our required number of people to run the class (5+). If there are less than the required number to run a class, it will be cancelled and those registered will receive an email notification about the cancellation. Unregistered drop-ins will be welcomed depending on pole availability. Please early cancel through your account if you can't make it, in order to give your spot to someone on the waitlist.

  • We do not allow make-up classes for the 6-week session enrolments (unless injury or illness w. supporting documents). With six-week enrolments your spot is guaranteed in each week and therefore your spot cannot be given to another student in your absence. Series classes are not transferable for use in any single drop-in class. Sessions pause at the end of year for holidays.

A minimum of students is required to start a 6-week session. Sessions are made up of programed and progressive classes and therefore, are not offered as single drop-in classes. Students must attend a minimum of 4 series classes in a session in order to graduate and progress safely to the next level. On registering for a 6-week session, you are guaranteed your spot in every class each week for the full six-weeks. Therefore, we do not offer transfers (make-up) classes or refunds for no show to session classes.

  • For drop-ins/one-time classes, if you early cancel through your Mindbody account or send an email before 9PM the day before the class, you will be early cancelled out of the class. That class credit will remain in your account for use at a later date. Drop-in classes are not transferable for use in series (6-week session) classes.

  • All students are expected to practice cleaning protocols by using the alcohol and individual cloths provided to wipe your pole before, during and after your practice. Please wipe down your yoga mat with the yoga mat cleaning spray provided for proper wipe down.
